So, this memory. It's... weird. And not just because of its subject matter - it feels weird in a way that memories normally don't. At best it's fuzzy and indistinct, at worst it's like looking at a terribly edited movie that makes no linear sense whatsoever. The parts indicated with italics feel particularly off, like they don't even belong together with the rest.

What it is:

It's cold here. It's just you, now, you and-

-Private Jimmy, stationed at a Blue Army outpost here on the ice world of Sidewinder. It's a boring assignment, most of the guys just spend all day complaining about the cold and wondering when they'll get to see action. Jimmy doesn't mind, though. He's got thoughts of his girlfriend back home to keep him going, and he's decided that once he gets home he'll ask her to marry him. Then-

-Tex shows up out of nowhere. You watch her fight what seems like hundreds of people, leaving a trail of bodies in her wake. You feel like you should be doing something, but you don't know what. You don't know if there's anything you could do anymore. And-

-Jimmy's dying, they're using his own head to kill him, and he's screaming and it doesn't even seem physically possible-

-it's cold here. It's just you, now, you and Tex. She approaches you, and-

and-

and she vanishes, leaving you alone in the cold. You wonder why she didn't kill you.
